The cryptocurrency market is trading in the red again today. Bitcoin (available on Coinbase) (BTC) has just dipped below the $6,600 mark and Ethereum (available on Coinbase) (ETH) is trading just above $225. Both Ripple (available on Binance) (XRP) and Tron (available on Binance) (TRX) are sliding down today, despite both announcing major news regarding their projects recently.

Ripple (available on Binance) concluded its Swell 2018 conference last week in San Francisco.

In addition to the conference, the Money Tap app powered by Ripple (available on Binance)’s xCurrent software just launched in Japan. There has been lots of movement for Ripple (available on Binance) over the last two weeks. Less than 24 hours ago, the cryptocurrency project announced that David Schwartz, Ripple (available on Binance)’s CTO, will be a featured speaker at SXSW 2019.

Ethereum (available on Coinbase)’s co-founder and ConSynsys founder, Joe Lubin, will also be speaking at the conference.
Despite the positive news, XRP has been backsliding on the market this week. According to CoinMarketCap, XRP is currently trading at $0.469 a coin, down -1.24% in 24 hours. For the week, the cryptocurrency is down -10.83%.
